I’ve been lucky enough to live a creative life and get paid for what I love to do. I got my start in sports photography and photojournalism at The Ohio State University and worked in newspapers for 17 years in northern California, Reno, NV and Lansing, MI.

From 2001 to 2011, I worked in higher education at the University of Nevada, Reno as a photographer, writer, web specialist and instructor. I relocated to Georgia Southern University in late 2011, and discovered another rewarding profession in academic advising.

I moved back home to Reno in 2015 to serve as the academic advisor in the Reynolds School of Journalism, where I retired in July 2021.
